Sniff Out Every Ranking, Link And Keyword.
Hound is the SEO half of your dashboard. Nine screens covering rankings, backlinks, keywords, competitors, local results, crawl health and content, pointed at the site you already run here, so the search data and the orders it produced sit behind the same login.
The Ranking And The Order Are In One Place
Which is the whole reason it is a screen in this dashboard rather than another tab you pay for separately.
An SEO tool in one window and a store in another can tell you a keyword moved and can tell you revenue moved, and neither can tell you those were the same event. Here the storefront, the first-party analytics and the search data are the same organization’s records, so the question of what a position actually earned is a question you can ask.
Whose records these areNine Screens, One Domain
Each answers a different question about the same site, and every one of them is pointed at your organization’s own domain without being told which it is.
Overview
Your domain at a glance, with the competitors the data has actually found rather than the ones you assumed.
Site Explorer
The domain profile and its backlinks: who links to you, and what those links are worth.
Keywords Explorer
What a term is worth going after before you write anything for it.
Competitors
The sites you keep meeting in the results, kept as a saved list rather than re-derived every visit.
Rank Tracker
Positions over time, which is the only view in which a ranking means anything.
Map View
A geo grid of local results, for a business whose customers search from somewhere specific.
Site Audit
Crawls of your own site, and what they found that a search engine will also find.
Content Explorer
What is being written about the thing you sell, and where it is being read.
Records
The raw results behind every screen above, for when you want the row rather than the chart.
A Position Is Not One Number
It is a different number a mile away, and for a business with a counter that is the number that matters.
Map View runs the same query from a grid of points around a location and shows you where you actually appear, which is how you find the three streets you are invisible on while the average looks fine. Rank Tracker does the same job over time rather than over distance.
Between them they answer the two questions a single position number hides: where, and since when.
What This Page Is Not Promising
Two things, and both are worth knowing before you switch a tool off.
Hound reads third-party search data, and third-party search data is an estimate. Volumes, difficulty scores and backlink counts come from a provider’s index rather than from a search engine, and they are a direction to move in rather than a measurement. Anything sourced from your own site, the crawls and the first-party analytics, is not an estimate.
It also does not do the work. It will tell you which pages are thin, which terms are within reach and who is beating you to them. Writing the page is still the job.
Point It At Your Domain.
Hound lives at /dashboard/marketing/hound. It resolves your organization's own site, so there is nothing to configure before the first overview.
Hound Analytics® is part of the dashboard, not a separate subscription to a separate vendor.
